Grand-Château d'Ansembourg
Gardens at Grand-Château d'Ansembourg I took advantage of the first May public holiday to visit the gardens at the Grand-Château d'Ansembourg, located in the excitingly-named Valley of the Seven Castles in the Guttland area of Luxembourg. Located only 20 minutes north of Luxembourg City Centre it felt a lot further away. The castle itself is privately owned and not open to visitors, although you can visit the gardens which are open daily from 10am-6pm and are free to visit.

Pettingen, perfect for a picnic
I came upon Pettingen Castle by accident after visiting Kass Haff farm near Mersch. It was the perfect spot for a picnic with plenty of shady spots to escape the heat. For a longer day out, you should note that this is also on the same site as the Mudam Musuem of Modern Art which is located behind the Musée Dräi Eechelen. As a military museum the Dräi Eechelen p

Useldange Castle
June 2022 We came upon this castle by mistake. Travelling up to the north of the country we made a stop for lunch when we saw this castle. It's super. It wasn't staffed but there were information displays going all the way up the tower. And the view at the top is even better! Unfortunately thunder rumbled as soon as we reached the top so we didn't wait to enjoy the view or to experience any potential lightening! It's not one for a day trip but worth a look if you are passing
